Today we are going to talk about correct spelling. We are going to talk about the word "reckless." This is often spelled "wreckless." Thoreau's ideas are often viewed as reckless. The reason that this word is so often misspelled is because it is associated with the word "wreck," as in "to wreck your car." Someone who is reckless would be liable to "wreck" into things. The root of reckless is reck-, as in reckon. When taken literally, reckless and wreckless are almost opposites.

Introduction
Hello students,
This is a blog that will accompany our study of Mr. Thoreau's works. We will be composing blog posts to share our thoughts about the works of Thoreau. We are doing this so we have time to compose our thoughts. This blog gives us an opportunity to read the thoughts of others, and say if we agree or disagree. We will have time in class to do write these posts. We will have about ten minutes per day to do this. Your post should be between 250-500 words. There will be no obscenity or other inappropriate language used on this site.
