Come On. Is that What Living in the Woods is Really Like?

Do you think that Thoreau gives a realistic portrayal of the country, self-sustaining life? If he does, why is the portrayal realistic to you? If not, why is it not believable? Think about this question in respect to labor, especially. How do Thoreau's ideas compare to the agrarian lifestyle put forth in Wendell Berry's "A Jonquil for Mary Penn"?
